Knowledge Overview
Since so many of my pages deal in one way or another with the elusive construct "Knowledge", I thought I'd put up an outline page to make tracking my other pages easier. Not easy, just easier!
1st of all some terms or vocabulary:
Meaning vs Knowledge:
I use "Meaning" for the whole gestalt of "Personal Knowledge", both left-brained, analytical or right-brained intuitive. This is contrasted with the current paradigm of "Objective Knowledge", which ignores or tries to put down 'subjective' knowledge. Yet, I will show that all meaningful knowledge starts within an Individual.

What is different in us before & after we listen to a lecture, read a book or take a class?
Popular answer: We've gained some Knowledge!
OK, but what exactly is that 'Knowledge' that we've gained?
If we can measure precisely what necessary & sufficient parts make up that knowledge, and the relationships between those parts, we can then measure both the knowledge itself and also test how effectively we transfer that knowledge from one Individual to another Individual, and from one community or generation to another.
Knowledge can be abstract yet we use concrete words and metaphors to represent it, both internally in our own heads and externally to share with others. How exactly do we do that?

How do we Create new Knowledge?
Using my
5 Necessary & Sufficient Causes model we can create new knowledge, in a predictable, teachable manner, and not have to wait for some mythical muse to come inspire us.
How do we improve Knowledge?
How do we, deliberately, make either incremental or radical improvements to what we already know?
How do we share our Knowledge?
When we choose not to hide or keep our personal knowledge secret, but to share it, how do we transfer our personal knowledge from Individual to Individual; community to community; & generation to generation? How do we measure the effectiveness of both this Learning & Teaching process? How can we improve it? See:

For community to community Knowledge transfer, which is commonly, but erroneously, called an educational system, I proposed A Knowledge Industry Model in 1986. If we were to treat Knowledge as an Industry, what might it look like? Which successful industry might we model it after?

We use words to manipulate our knowledge internally and also to share it with others, yet words are filled with so many problems of
accuracy & ambiguous meanings. To help us past this barrier, I created Knowledge Cells, abbreviated to KnCells, where each Cell contains a single unit of personal meaning.

Deliberate Prodding:
Using the 5 Necessary & Sufficient Components as a Dynamic checklist to counteract the lack of balance that can occur when a unique Individual or leader expresses strong preferences.
Note on use of reference material:
I do not use references to prove ideas.
Where my ideas were
significantly influenced by other authors, I point to those sources so
you may go to them for fuller explanations of their ideas, and the
historical perspective of how ideas grow and evolve from each other.
However, my ideas must stand on their own merit or not at all.
I am presenting my personal view of the world as I perceive it, and how I
manipulate those perceptions to derive my personal meanings as I move
through life. I'm presenting this system, as clearly as I can, in the hopes that it will make it easier for you to understand what I am presenting, and we may then enter into a more fruitful dialogue on the ideas themselves rather than getting stuck in the difficulties of language.
I do not anticipate complete agreement, nor do I present these ideas as
truth to be accepted by others. My hope is that they will be useful to others as they have been to me, and secondly that they will stimulate feedback from others to help me improve my viewpoints.
Please take what you find useful, and leave the rest.
Or perhaps, if you feel so inclined, comment to me, on which parts
you find useful & those you do not find useful, so that together we may come to create even more useful tools and techniques to help all learners to become more effective. My framework is more useful vs less useful, rather than right vs wrong.
